A Getaway

We were able to sneak away for a few days and head to Moab. My brother was blessing his little girl Izzie and it just happened to be the Pumpkin Chuckin Festival AND Gibson didn't have school on Friday so we loaded up the car and hit the road.

It's nice to have family in a tourist town. We're always able to enjoy a "local favorite" as well as do a "touristy" thing to do. Yet, since we've been down a few times we can do it all in shifts and not feel like we have to accomplish it all in one weekend.

They encourage dressing up so we gave this years Halloween costumes a trial run.

Since it was a very warm day the costumes didn't last very long on but they sure looked cute while they wore them!

There were about a dozen catapults that had been built and they have different contests for each launch. It's very entertaining as well as incredibly interesting to see how a catapult works and what it does once it's holding a pumpkin.

There was food.....which we ate. {the good kind of kettle corn I might add. Salty and Sweet and fresh from a big black kettle...yum}

Our hotel had a pool and of course we had to utilize it! The boys had a great time. Gibson's really getting comfortable with the water and Easton, well, this kid has no fear.

Even Addie knows how to be a tour guide. Her parents have taught her well.

Of course the blessing was beautiful and the hospitality wonderful. We had a fun weekend getting away. We ate good food, had some good company and a great time wrestling two boys to sleep in a hotel....need I say more on the hotel?

So fun to be close to family and to be able to have a quick little getaway. Thanks Jason and Jen for a great weekend.
