What a Week!

{I told Easton to keep the bowl near, just incase......he did}

Last week was a doozie.

1 a.m. Monday morning I heard the gag and cry come from Easton's room. He took care of Monday and I must say, he did a good job keeping me on my toes and the washing machine running.

Tuesday it was Creed and myself {always fun to be a sick momma}
Wednesday Gibson took his turn
Thursday Jared got it as he was heading out the door to a dental convention
Friday we were in the clear so I took the kids to Emilee's as I flew to AZ for the weekend.
Saturday Emilee's daughter was sick
Sunday Emilee and her son Braxton were sick
Monday my mom watched my kids
Today my mom is sick.

Tomorrow- Pine sol will be my friend.

Awesome. Just Awesome.

Becoming a Fan

Jared received a set of great seats for a BYU basketball game. It fell on a Saturday afternoon so we decided to take Gibson out to begin introducing him to Jared's alma mater, the BYU Cougars.

We were on the third row and Cosmo kept walking by. Gibson wanted to say Hi and ran down to give him a high five and Cosmo lifted him up over the fence and posed for a picture. Of course Cosmo became Gibson's best friend and every time he walked by he would point to him or stick out his hand for Gibson to slap.

It was a great time. We threw in some smuggled sour patch kids, some purchased popcorn and rootbeer and it was the perfect afternoon with our little guy!

It's Tradition

I remember vividly doing the same thing. Coming home from my Valentine's Party at school and scattering my Valentines out across the table and checking them out, one by one.

Gibson couldn't wait to dump out his bag and see what each of his school friends gave him. He was super excited that Haydon gave him a Power Rangers Valentine because for his next birthday, he's going to have a Power Rangers Party.

He told me he was "okay" receiving a Barbie, Princess and the Frog and Dora Valentine because just because he got them doesn't mean he has to like "those girl things."

Seeing Gibson light up and understand holidays is the best. It's also a sign that my baby boy is growing up. Although, I did figure out he's growing up when it took us 4 pair of pants to find one that wasn't floods on him.

We've got two more days of Valentine celebrations and we're going to enjoy each {sugar cookie slathered in frosting with oodles of sprinkles} moment!

Cowboy Gibson

It's not even 9am on Monday morning and already I'm bugged.

We're applying for health insurance. It's a total pain. Our underwriter is Jackie Buggs and she bugs me. I have loved getting emails from her saying call me ASAP with no phone number....so I go through the automated system to get her voicemail and have her never call me back.

I love that when I finally talk to her, because her co-worker tracked her down, she is annoyed and won't give me any info because I'm not Jared....ugh. annoying. I can't get a hold of him during the day, Good Luck Jackie!

I had some friends come and see my house on Saturday. It was a total disaster which makes Jared and I both want to crawl into a hole. I think everyone from my sister who was visiting to friends commented on the amount of boxes of Captain Crunch we have in our storage room which we are in the process of organizing. We all know organizing=disaster zone.

We don't eat Captain Crunch, we don't really like Captain Crunch but they were $1 a box, A DOLLAR so I bought one, or ten.....

So this morning, I decided to make breakfast for the kids. A warm, delicious breakfast that we'd all sit around the table and enjoy. But, while it was cooking- I talked to Jackie Buggs and now I'm bugged. I didn't sit down to eat with the boys.

Plus, my warm delicious breakfast didn't turn out like mom used to make. Maybe Jared's right, maybe it does taste better when someone else makes it....Mom, you want to make me breakfast so I can tell for sure?

The sun is shining and that makes me happy. I'm happy that I don't have to talk to Jackie anymore, I'll let Jared deal with her attitude, while I try and change mine.

Happy Monday!

Looking Up

It was suggested to me to try Target's Brand of Baked Sea Salt and Vinegar chips. I did. Almost a full bag later, I made my decision that I like them. My favorite part of the whole bag is the little broken chips that are swimming in sea salt. Oh, I could drool just thinking of that salty goodness.

One thing about eating fingerful of broken chips is that it's almost easier to tilt the head back, open the mouth and drop the chips in. As you can imagine with this process, it's almost impossible not to look up.

Looking up is always a good thing, except when it creates more work for myself. You see, I looked up and saw cobwebs stringing from the cupboards to the window. I knew this would be a one time thing so I took a few steps to the left and once again looked up as I put more salty goodness in my mouth and once again, cobwebs were present.

If I didn't have salty goodness all over my fingers I would probably have gotten something to take care of the cobwebs but instead, I looked away and added it to the imaginary list of things to be done, like dust shutters, paint message board, clean fingerprints off front door and find wedding ring.

It will all be done, eventually.

For now, I'm going to focus my attention on more pressing matters like researching treadmills so I can eat salty goodness without feeling guilty......I am going to eat them in the kitchen, I've already looked up and now what I'm going to find.

Happy Groundhogs Day

Even our groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter.

Although seeing this groundhog was much cheaper, easier and warmer than seeing the real groundhog in Punxsutawny, PA a few years ago, nothing will ever compare to the memories of that early morning and sharing it with 40,000 of our closest friends!

Happy Groundhogs Day 2010!
